Off To The Races!

The Ables took off to Shreveport with Meme to watch the horses race at Louisiana Downs. Dad had been before, but the rest of the gang had not. We all loved watching the horses. They would ride past slowly for all to get a good look and then we would choose our favorite based on which one seemed fiesty. :) Our theory wasn't too great because we didn't come home rich. :)

That night after the races, we all went to eat a yummy meal at Superior's Steakhouse and then headed back to our hotel for the evening. The next day, we headed to Bass Pro and walked around the Boardwalk Shops. Then we headed back towards home and stopped at Gator and Friends. We decided it should be named Stinky Gator and Friends. ;) We were glad we made a stop there and enjoyed looking at all the gators and feeding all the other animals. Dad stopped and bought us all ice cream after visiting the gators and then we headed home. We had a great time on this Shreveport adventure.

Judson's like- Uh... I don't think so!!!

Ready for our first tournament

Dad had a fabulous idea to take Judson fishing in The Woods addition.  Jeremy grew up fishing there, so we made a trip to Wally World for bobbers and perch hooks and hit the road!
Dad would set the hook and then Judson would take over reeling those lunkers in!

Addison was in charge of watching Judson's bucket.

Judson kept coming back to make sure she was doing her job.

Nanna walked down from her house to see all of Judson's fish.

We decided to keep a few of Judson's gigantic perch and put them in our Koi Pond in our backyard so Judson could fish when he feels like it. ;)

Judson and Dad accidentally caught a koi, so that was the end of the fishing in our pond.  Thank goodness we practice catch and release at The Ables Household! :)

Three Nights in The Chateau (Granmosh's Trailer)

We came home from Galveston on Monday and stayed home long enough to wash our clothes and then headed out to Tyler State Park to camp with Granmosh.  Dad came out each night for dinner and to swim, and Juddy, Addie and I slept in the trailer with Granmosh. 

We had such a big time.  We swam each day and took adventures in the double stroller. Our first full day, we walked to the playground and then on up to the Park Store.  We had to have a push up! Those remind me so much of being a kid!

The next day our adventure led us over the dam and to the other side of the lake to look off the pier.  We took that double troller off roading all over the place! 

Granmosh cooked some fabulous meals... fried shrimp and pot roast, just to name a few.  Granmosh and Judson papier mached a superhero mask and shield (which Hallie ate once we got home),

  and Judson hunted rolie polies the entire time.  No bug was safe with Judson around. 

We spent our nap time in the hammock.  So relaxing!

Addison spent a lot of time resting in her pack n play and actually did swim with mom in the water once.  We had such a great time and we know it was a lot of hard work for Granmosh. (Thanks, Granmosh!)  We hope to make it an annual event.

Summer Adventure Numero Uno

Last Thursday, we left for Galveston once again. This time we went with Nanna, Pop, Aunt Ashley, and Uncle Tim.  We drove down on Thursday, just our immediate family, and stayed at the San Luis. We ate dinner at Landrys that evening and watched the ocean from our balcony. 
The next day, the rest of the family came on down and we all stayed at The Seascape Condos.  We spent the majority of our time on the beach and had a great time. The seaweed was pretty yucky, but that didn't stop us from enjoying our stay.  Addison wasn't too sure about the beach yet, but we went out each day until she had enough. Judson LOVES the beach and could spend all day and night playing in the sand! Dad and Uncle Tim went crabbing for fun this time, but didn't catch enough for dinner, so Pop took us all to Gaidos instead. ;)
